5:00—5:45p.m. Dinner
We will be serving dinner from 5pm until 5:45pm, so if you are unable to make it right at 5, please join us when you can! You’ll enjoy a delicious meal made by Chestnut Street Deli.

6:00 p.m. “Core Pesticide Trivia”
Dwane Miller, Penn State Agricultural Extension Educator
An interactive game based on the TV Show JEOPARDY. The presentation will review terms and concepts from the Core Pesticide Manual.

6:30 p.m. “Nozzle Selection and Drift Reduction”
Dwane Miller, Penn State Agricultural Extension Educator
A review of different types of sprayer nozzles and discussion on strategies for reducing drift when applying pesticides.

7:00 p.m. “Industrial Hemp: A Versatile Crop”
Tara Caton, Research Coordinator, Rodale Institute Industrial hemp is a versatile crop with the potential to improve agroecosystem diversity, mitigate climate degradation, and increase farm incomes. This presentation will discuss the potential to incorporate industrial hemp into your farm rotation as a dual weed suppression cover crop and cash crop with the potential to increase crop diversity, improve soil health, and increase farmer income. Preliminary results on crop performance and yield, soil health, and weed suppression will be shared.

8:00p.m. “Weed Identification”
Anna Busch, Penn State Extension Field & Forage Crops Educator
Information will be provided regarding the identification of weeds.

8:30p.m. “Problem Weeds in Pennsylvania”
Anna Busch, Penn State Extension Field and Forage Crops Educator
This presentation will focus on problem weeds in Pennsylvania.

9:00p.m. Pesticide Credits & Door Prizes
The NCCD has applied to the PA Department of Agriculture for credits. We are anticipating two category and two core credits.
